I’m Alix Martinez

I design products & services

I’m Alix Martínez Martínez, originally from A Coruña (Spain). A digital designer currently working at Fjord London – a global service design consultancy.

Curious by nature, I create experiences focused on improving people’s lives together with my teammates. I am interested in both innovation and beautiful things. Over the last 14 years I have had the chance to develop an understanding of design and our connected world, exploring its languages, cultures and methodologies.

I am also an art lover, light enthusiast, bookworm, kickboxer, frequent traveller, foodie…

What keeps me going is goals.

Muhammad Ali

I am a designer with a visual background and experience in interaction design, currently specialised in designing products and services across a wide range of sectors from finance, gas and electricity to sports betting and consumer goods.

I like designing meaningful and appealing experiences and have an ongoing passion for learning. Finding the right way to communicate the thinking behind the work is as important as the work itself. Everything I design has a rationale behind it and is the result of an evolving concept.

Specialised in user interface design and familiar with UX practices (user research, wireframing, prototyping, user testing), I generate ideas and concepts on a daily basis.

Over the years I have worked with clients from a range of countries, including the UK, Spain, Canada, Australia, Austria, and South Africa.

My attitude is that if you push me towards something that you think is a weakness, then I will turn that perceived weakness into a strength.

I believe attitude is more important than aptitude. Having fun at work is one of my main motivations, as well as being determined to improve every day and give my best.

Each project is different and requires a different approach. Understanding the problem and identifying the right questions will lead you to the right answers and outcomes. You need to be flexible and adapt to each situation in order to ensure a quality product or/and service.

Empathy is required to understand different points of view, whether working with clients or figuring out user needs and wants. The old “clients vs. designers” formula is no longer valid, and for me collaboration is the key to success.
